We’re honored to be featured in the October IMN Newsletter. Here’s the interview with Ted as it appears on their site:

As the popular Chicago band releases “Realtime,” IMN decided to find out a few things about Thadeus Project from band leader, Ted Putbress.

What made you choose “Realtime” as your next single?

A: We felt it was relevant to the times. We live in crazy times. It is an election year, the economy is in chaos and who knows what tomorrow may bring. We think the fans, radio and the people who listen to use will relate to the song.

What other songs were on the list for possible singles?

A: A radio friendly version of “Beggars Tune” and “Do You Want Me” were possible choices, but in the end, we decided to go with “Realtime.” We may, in the future, release those two.

For you personally, what is your favorite song that Thadeus Project has released?

A: “Rivertown” because so many people were able to relate to it. And it went to #1 so that makes it feel good, too.

Tell IMN something about Thadeus Project that fans don’t know.

A: I don’t know if people know that Glenn and I are best friends and have been since we were kids. Glenn and I have have experience so much through the years together. We know what each other is thinking in the studio or what the musical response will be to the other before it actually happens. For example, I wrote the music to “Picture Book” in about a half a hour and presented it to Glenn on a Saturday afternoon. He wrote the lyrics in about 15 minutes and both of us knew what this song meant to each other and what inspired it. The next day we recorded it and had it on the 3rd take. On the charts, “Picture Book” went to number 14. It is great making music with your best friend. There is nothing in the world like it.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Indie artist who want to be successful in this business?

A: Do it for the love of the music and do it with a good business sense. At the end of the day, it is about the music.
